In addition to the Regulation, the Manufactured Home Park Tenancy Act allows arbitrators to order an assignment or sublet if the park owner withheld consent unreasonably or arbitrarily or for a reason not permitted by the Regulation. Offer essential products or services like housing, food or health care. New homes not found on this registry or by calling the Licensing & Consumer Services Branch will be treated as potentially non-compliant and may not be sold until approved by BC Housing.
Without verifying this information, you cannot know if the Silver Label or CSA sticker is valid. Home was or is in the process of being built by a Licensed Residential Builder and is covered by home warranty insurance as required by legislation in B.C. The New Homes Registry provides the name of the builder or developer of record and the contact information of the warranty provider should you wish to confirm details. If a residential exemption no longer applies to a manufactured home, the home must be re-registered.
And, in some instances, the municipality the manufactured home is located in. You must always provide reasonable care and skill in the execution of your duties and provide competent service. This may include asking a seller if their home is a manufactured home when you are not sure because many manufactured homes are built to look like traditionally built homes. The purpose of this guideline is to help you understand the regulatory framework which regulates manufactured homes in B.C.
